Capital Area Transit (CAT) Board of Directors has reluctantly accepted the resignation of General Manager William A. Jones effective February 23, 2017, according to an announcement by Board Chairman Eric Bugaile.

“Bill was dedicated to CAT over his nine-year tenure as CAT general manager,” Bugaile said. “We thank him for his service.”

CAT has contracted with McDonald Transit Associates, a nationally recognized transit management firm, located in Fort Wayne, Texas, to provide interim management consultation services while the board conducts a search for a permanent general manager. “McDonald Transit provides an array of transit operational services useful to CAT as we move forward,” Bugaile noted.

Jones said he was departing CAT to pursue other career interests and opportunities.
