The Chicago Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is announcing a new online, interactive procurement portal, or “e-portal,” designed to make the procurement process easier and more transparent for vendors.

The new e-Bid procurement software offers easy self-registration, vendor database management, electronic bidding, review of proposer/bidder submissions, contract management and tracking of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise vendor payments.

“Finding qualified vendors is always a top priority,” says RTA Executive Director Leanne Redden. “The new e-portal will help vendors better understand our processes at the RTA and follow along with their bid process as well. We think this increase in transparency for potential vendors is a real benefit of the new system.”

Once a vendor has registered with the e-portal and indicated the types of services or supplies they provide, the RTA can notify them of opportunities to do business with the RTA. Vendors can electronically submit bids and follow the progress of procurements in which they are participating. Vendors can also manage subcontractor participation by entering contract payment information.
