The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) has named Linda C. Ford as chief counsel, effective January 9, 2017.
Ford, who holds a Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, has worked at the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) for the last 16 years serving in USDOT's Office of general counsel and Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) office of chief counsel. She currently serves as Associate Administrator of the FTA's Office of civil rights.
"I am very pleased to announce that Linda Ford will be joining APTA as chief counsel," said Richard A. White, APTA acting president and CEO. "Her extensive expertise in legal and policy matters and her hands-on experience at the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration will be an asset to APTA as we work to advance public transportation."

Prior to joining the USDOT, Ford held legal and law judge positions in the State of Indiana. She has a Bachelor of General Science degree from Purdue University. Ford resides in Washington, DC.
