Nov. 1, 2016
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting to present the findings of Project No. 12-98, a feasibility study that investigated a potential shared use path connection

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting to present the findings of Project No. 12-98, a feasibility study that investigated a potential shared use path connection between the Hop River Trail and Quarry Road in Bolton, on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the Bolton Senior Center, 104 Notch Road, Bolton, Connecticut. The presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m.

The primary purpose of the meeting is to inform the public about the findings of the feasibility study that investigated a potential shared use path connection between the Hop River State Park Trail at Bolton Notch State Park to Quarry Road, a local road approximately 0.5 miles east of the trail parking lot. The trail parking lot is also the terminus of the Charter Oak Greenway Shared Use Path and a spur connection would help to provide access to the trail system for communities throughout the Route 44 corridor.

The meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this study.

The meeting facility is ADA accessible. Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend the meeting and requiring an interpreter must make arrangements by contacting the Department of Transportation's Office of Communications (voice only) at (860) 594-3062 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public, and efforts will be made to respond to requests for assistance.

Findings of the study will be on display for public review. Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss the study. More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Anyone wishing to discuss the study may contact Mr. William W. Britnell at (860) 594-3274 or by e-mail at [email protected].  Plans are also available for review at the Bolton Town Hall two weeks prior to the meeting.
