Washington Metro Accessibility Advisory Committee Seeks Nominations for Heddinger Award

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (Metro) Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) is seeking nominations for the 2016 Richard W. Heddinger Accessible Transportation Award. The award honors a person or organization whose efforts have resulted in significant improvements to accessible public transportation services for people with disabilities in the National Capital Region.
Nominations will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 31, and the award recipient will be announced at the Accessibility Excellence Awards later this year. The award honors former Accessibility Advisory Committee Chair Richard W. Heddinger for his lifelong commitment to accessible public transportation and his tireless devotion to providing access for all citizens of the Washington metropolitan area.
