The Greater Dayton RTA has recently announced the promotion of Brandon Policicchio to chief customer and business development officer.
In his new role, Policicchio will lead the development, implementation and analysis of all marketing, ridership, planning, service, and scheduling efforts of the agency. Under his leadership, the Customer and Business Development team will focus on fostering positive and progressive relationships with RTA employees, customers, area agencies, businesses and organizations.
Since coming to Dayton in 2012, he has taken the lead on projects to improve service quality, including on-time performance improvements in both fixed route and paratransit services in addition to his regular duties of overseeing day-to-day operations of 270 buses and over 400 employees.
His efforts have resulted in more reliable services for our customers while increasing productivity and reducing operating costs and fleet size. Policicchio volunteered to manage RTA's overhaul of its Intelligent Transportation Systems infrastructure; a two-year, $15 million investment to upgrade communications and safety systems, computer aided dispatch and implementation of new customer amenities. These amenities include real-time bus operating information, automated customer calling for paratransit trips and online reservations.
Policicchio joined RTA in October 2012 as deputy chief operations officer after serving as a transportation supervisor with Columbus Ohio Transit Authority (COTA). He began working in transportation as a student at The Ohio State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He was a Transportation Training and Operations Supervisor for the OSU Campus Area Bus Service (CABS) before joining COTA.
Policicchio represents the Greater Dayton RTA as secretary on the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) bus operations committee, as well as on several Ohio Public Transportation Association (OPTA) committees: bus operations, safety, and paratransit. He is a member of RTA’s 2020 Leadership Group, and Mass Transit magazine recently selected him as one of the Top 40 Under 40 transportation industry leaders.
