The Greater Dayton RTA was recently recognized as one of Dayton’s healthiest employers by the Dayton Business Journal. This is the second consecutive year RTA has received this award.
RTA Workplace Wellbeing Supervisor Julie Bonsall said the Healthiest Employer Award “is truly testimony to RTA’s commitment to wellness for its 630 employees.” The Greater Dayton RTA fully understands and supports the value of having healthy employees, she added.
Individual employees respond differently to incentives, she said. For example, employees can earn up to $600 per year in incentives. Finding what motivates individuals is a big part of her job and the entire wellness team, said Bonsall.
The RTA wellness approach is comprehensive. “We have updated exercise equipment in two locations, classes, bio-metric screenings, CPR training, weight management programs, a Fitbit program and other opportunities to receive one-on-one advice and training,” she said.
Over half of RTA’s employees are engaged in at least one component of the wellness program. Bonsall receives support and advice from RTA’s wellness committee (Healthy Employees at RTA or “HEARTA”).
