The Greater Dayton RTA recently bid farewell to Director of Planning & Marketing Frank Ecklar, who retired after 32 exemplary years of service in the public transportation industry.

“Frank’s work here at RTA has been nothing short of amazing,” said RTA Chief Executive Officer Mark Donaghy. “He has always been customer-focused.  He has accomplished so much to make public transportation in the Dayton region accessible for so many people.”

Donaghy cited the successful development of the Wright Stop Plaza facility, the creation of the RTA regional hub network, and Ecklar’s efforts for job access service to employers like P&G and Fuyao as just a few of his accomplishments.

Ecklar was employed in increasingly responsible positions with RTA over the past 28 years. He began his career in public transportation in Columbus for COTA.

Ecklar’s retirement was recognized at the regularly scheduled board meeting at Wright Stop Plaza Monday afternoon. He intends to remain a vital member of the Dayton community, and looks forward to spending time with his family and his wife Linda.
