RTA Receives GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for 20th Year in Row

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) was once again the recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2016 budget.

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) was once again the recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2016 budget.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the 20th consecutive year. This speaks to the RTA and the Service Boards’ commitment to presenting a budget that meets the highest standards of communication and accountability to the public,” said RTA Executive Director Leanne Redden.

The award illustrates the RTA's long-term commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting, satisfying several nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The 2016 budget document features improved consistency across the Service Board sections and incorporates standard chart and table designs. The RTA's 2016 budget document was rated “proficient” or “outstanding” for each of twenty-seven criteria within six evaluation categories, qualifying the regional budget to be an example for others throughout North America. The RTA’s Budget, Financial Analysis, and Pension Management Division also received a Certificate of Recognition for its role as the division primarily responsible for the achievement of this award.
