Washington Metro GM Announces New General Counsel
Metro General Manager/CEO Paul J. Wiedefeld has announced the appointment of Patricia (Patty) Lee as general counsel effective Monday, July 11.
Lee joins Metro with 26 years of public and private legal experience. A native Washingtonian and Harvard Law School graduate, she brings a unique combination of experience with a wide range of legal matters, including regulatory compliance, procurements, real estate transactions, labor matters and litigation.
“I am pleased to welcome Patricia as our new General Counsel,” said Wiedefeld. “Patricia’s unique public and private sector experience make her well suited for many of the challenges that we face today, and she will be an integral part of the executive management team tasked with rebuilding Metro from the inside out.”
During the course of her career, Lee has held senior legal roles at Northrop Grumman, Cable & Wireless USA, Inc. and was a partner at Holland & Knight. She holds BAR memberships in all three Metro jurisdictions – the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
Additionally, she previously served as a Trial Attorney at the Justice Department and is also accustomed to working in an operations environment, providing legal advice to board of directors, chief executive officers and senior executive teams.
