National Express’ Midland Metro has achieved the ISO 9001 accreditation. This is an internationally respected certification which recognizes high-quality operations and maintenance procedures.

Director of the Midland Metro, Ben Ackroyd, said, “I’m very proud of the whole team for achieving this standard. Special credit to all the hard work the engineering team have done getting our new fleet of trams up and running.

“I’m particularly pleased because to gain ISO 9001, companies have to demonstrate their absolute commitment to customer satisfaction by setting out - and being judged on - what needs to be in place to consistently meet customer requirements.”

Late last year, National Express West Midlands was also awarded a high four-star rating by the British Quality Foundation (BQF) in their first ever assessment against the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) framework.

Dean Finch, Chief Executive of the National Express Group, said at the time, “I am determined that we embed Operational Excellence across all of our divisions and I am especially pleased to see that it is now being recognized by prestigious external bodies like the British Quality Foundation. I see it as crucial to our future success as a business. We must continuously strive to keep improving and deliver excellent services to our customers.”
