Ride the bus often? Have ideas on how to make it better? CARTA is offering a month of free rides for your feedback.

The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority is seeking volunteers for its third Rider Advisory Committee, where residents are asked to provide ideas for service improvements and advice on projects.

There is free parking available for the next meeting at the New Mount Carmel Baptist Church, and the location can also be accessed using CARTA's Fixed Route #9 to East Lake.

Committee Details

  • WHEN: Wednesday, March 4 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • WHERE: New Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 1616 Washington St.
  • HOW: The meeting is open to the public, those interested are asked to RSVP by emailing [email protected]

All attendees will receive a free 31-day pass at the conclusion of the advisory committee. The passes are good for fixed-route services only. Those who RSVP via email will be automatically invited to the next advisory committee.

The Rider Advisory Committee was started last year as an initiative by CARTA CEO Charles Frazier to give transit service users a direct way to influence the future of Chattanooga's public transportation. The first meeting was held in August and the second in December.
