Jan. 3, 2023
Personnel updates from around the transit industry.

Keolis North America (Keolis) appointed Steve Shaw as chief operating officer (COO) at the beginning of December 2022. Shaw is the first COO for Keolis North America and will report to David Scorey, Keolis North America CEO.

Shaw brings 40 years of transit experience to the role where he will have full accountability for U.S. transit operations. These duties expand on his previous role at Keolis where he served as the president and CEO of Keolis Transit America. In that role, Steve led bus operations across the U.S., established Keolis’ presence across geographies and drove its growth through successful contract wins and renewals.

Marcin Taraszkiewicz, P.E., has joined HDR as the firm’s rail and transit vehicle technology lead and will be based in Fulton, Md. Taraszkiewicz brings more than 29 years of national and international experience in new vehicle procurements, modifications, maintenance and operations of light rail, heavy rail, commuter, bus and metro vehicles.

Taraszkiewicz has authored and presented papers on a range of topics related to vehicle technology, including community impacts, costs and efficiencies, and regulatory requirements for safe operations in joint use corridors. He serves on APTA’s Hydrogen/Battery Propulsion Subcommittee, and he is the lead instructor for AREMA’s “Introduction to Practical Railroad Engineering.” In his vehicle technology lead role, he will be working closely with HDR’s transit, freight, advanced technology and sustainability colleagues to keep HDR at the forefront of this quickly changing field of expertise.

Brookville Equipment Corporation promoted Joel McNeil to executive vice president where he will continue to oversee the Business Development department and will also take on additional strategic leadership and organizational development duties.

McNeil has been with Brookville since 2008 and previously served as vice president of business development. The company says he has been integral in leading his team to capture many important projects, including streetcar projects for Dallas, Detroit, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Tempe, Tacoma and Portland, as well as the IOCC locomotive project and so much more.

GreenPower Motor Company Inc. named Claus C. Tritt as vice president of medium duty and commercial vehicle sales, bringing more than 36 years of experience to the position.

After serving in an Airborne Regiment in West Germany, Tritt began his automotive career as a sales consultant for a Mercedes-Benz owned retail store. After holding differing roles in the sales, market and platform management areas of the company, Mercedes-Benz transferred him to the Freightliner Custom Chassis division in the United States in 2001 and then on to a leadership role in the fleet division of DaimlerChrysler in Auburn Hills, Mich., in 2003.

After 30 years of successful service with Mercedes-Benz, Tritt returned to the retail side of the automotive business, operating a luxury car dealership in Birmingham, Ala. Most recently, he served in a sales and business development role at Canoo.
