Quinn has been serving in the role on an interim basis and has 18 years of experience with King County.

De’Sean Quinn, who has 18 years of public service experience, has been named by King County Metro to be the agency’s assistant general manager of partnerships and strategy. Quinn was serving in the role on an interim basis and King County Metro credits Quinn’s strong performance for accomplishing a great deal for the agency on several levels.

“Every day, he helps us deliver on our vision to become a racially just department and to improve our community through transportation equity,” King County Metro Public Information Officer Elaine Porterfield wrote in a blog announcing Quinn’s appointment.

Quinn’s experience before King County Metro includes serving as the community relations manager for King County Executive Ron Sims before coming the executive’s council relations director, where he served as chief liaison to the King County Council. Quinn also held the role of regional relations manager for Executive Dow Constantine, working with all 39 King County cities and has experience working in operations at the King County Wastewater Treatment Division and on the Emergency Response Team.

“Public service has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents ensured that my siblings and I were active in our community, and some of my favorite memories from my childhood are volunteering alongside my father at the local Boys and Girls Club, for other nonprofits, and on environmental restoration projects,” said Quinn.

When he’s not at Metro, Quinn serves as a city council member for Tukwila, a position he’s held since 2008. Quinn also serves on the board of Forterra, an environmental and conservation organization, and is a member of the Strong Communities Fund, which strengthens communities by pooling, leveraging and directing social investment capital.
