SacRT says the selection is a testament to the achievements that Li has completed over the past three years as general manager and CEO of SacRT and his more than 20 years in the public transportation business.

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) has awarded its 2019 Outstanding Public Transportation Manager Award to Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) General Manager/CEO Henry Li. SacRT says this prestigious and highly competitive award, described by APTA as the equivalent of an Oscar award to the industry, is presented to a manager who has made outstanding contributions to public transportation in North America.

Li’s selection is a testament to the achievements that he has completed over the past three years as general manager and CEO of SacRT and his more than 20 years in the public transportation business.

“I am truly humbled and grateful to receive this honor, but this is genuinely about the community and our commitment to improving mobility in our region,” said Li. “It is through the leadership and support from the Board, the hard work and dedication of our employees and the collaboration and support from riders, community stakeholders and advocates that we have been able to achieve transformational successes.”

SacRT also recently received the Transportation Security Administration’s Gold Standard Award for transit security and emergency preparedness programs, and the first annual Good Governance Award from the Sacramento Taxpayers Association for Outstanding Leadership in Defending Taxpayer Funds.
