Urban Engineers names Fedun deputy practice leader for rail and transit
Urban Engineers, Inc., has hired Peter Fedun, PE, to serve as the firm's deputy practice leader for rail and transit. He joins the firm with more than 30 years of engineering experience specializing in rail transit design for light-rail transit, heavy rail and high-speed rail.
Fedun has global experience delivering projects in a variety of procurement situations. Urban Engineers notes that he has contributed to the planning, final design, construction and maintenance phase of related projects and has prepared contract documents for conventional design-bid-build, design-build and P3 procurements.
Fedun began his career as a structural engineer and developed conceptual, preliminary and final structural designs for viaducts, bridges, tunnels and other transit-related facilities. As a project manager, Urban Engineers says he has a demonstrated ability to build teams, facilitate complex project work and satisfy client expectations.
“We are excited to have Peter come on board in a leadership role for our rail and transit practice,” said Matthew Marquardt, PE, an Urban senior vice president and COO for vertical services. “He is a proven talent in the industry and his expertise will enhance the level of service we are able to provide for our clients.”
Fedun is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a registered Professional Engineer in six states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Florida and North Carolina.
