Sept. 24, 2019
The agency has received the award for the fourth consecutive year.

The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) was awarded the 24th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) for 2019 from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI).

The AEP Award is earned by public and non-profit organizations that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence and obtain a high application score based on standardized criteria.

The AEP program encourages the development of excellence, as well as continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually. In 2019, there were 202 successful applicants, including 42 counties, 67 cities, 25 higher education agencies, 23 school districts, 39 special districts, four state agencies and two others.

“It’s an honor to receive this award for the fourth consecutive year,” said Marisa Perry, DCTA chief financial officer. “This recognition highlights DCTA’s commitment to innovation, e-Procurement, professionalism, productivity and leadership in the Procurement industry. It also showcases the hard work and dedication of our procurement team consistently maintaining a consultative approach which enables us to better manage the expenditure of public funds.”

In 1995, NPI established a program designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. The AEP is awarded annually to recognize innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership in the procurement function. This award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria.
