New Flyer Industries Canada ULC congratulated three Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium members on their leadership in sustainability and innovation, as recently recognized through recent awards.

CUTRIC Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Josipa Petrunic was named to Canada's 2018 Top 40 Under 40 for her leadership in building a national technology consortium dedicated to low-carbon smart mobility technologies across Canada. National Operations Manager and Project Lead, Kristina Mlakar, was named a 2018 Corporate Knights Sustainability Top 30 Under 30 recipient for her work in developing a Smart Vehicle Mobility project across five provinces, and finally, Program Manager Dr. Anahita Jami was nominated as a finalist in the ECO Canada Impact Awards, which highlights the work of individuals who demonstrate leadership and commitment to environmental innovation.

“New Flyer is proud to support these bright leaders in driving zero-emission mobility projects across Canada and establishing CUTRIC as a global leader in public transit technology advancement,” said Jennifer McNeill, vice president, sales and marketing and CUTRIC Board Member. “As a proud CUTRIC member since 2016, we congratulate them for outstanding leadership in advancing smart mobility solutions through remarkable projects such as the Pan-Canadian Electric-Bus Demonstration and Integration Trial – the world’s first multi-manufacturer interoperability trial for zero-emission transit buses.”

New Flyer, alongside CUTRIC, celebrated the launch of CUTRIC’s Pan-Canadian Electric Bus Demonstration and Integration Trial earlier this year. The trial is the world’s first multi-manufacturer interoperability demonstration for fast-charge electric buses, of which New Flyer was a contributing member to its development and launch.
