C-TRAN and other transit agencies across Washington are celebrating Ride Transit Month throughout June. That means C-TRAN is also celebrating the people who ride and support public transportation in this community.
On Thursday, June 7, C-TRAN will celebrate Ride Transit Day by saying thank you to its riders throughout the day. C-Tran will also be handing out free coffee and gifts to show our appreciation. Look for C-TRAN staff at Fisher’s Landing Transit Center (3510 S.E. 164th Ave.) and 99th Street Transit Center (9700 N.E. 7th Ave.) from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., and at the Vancouver Mall Transit Center (8600 Vancouver Mall Drive) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Ride Transit Month is a great time to try it out, learn the ropes and take advantage of the many benefits that come with using transit.
Save money. Regularly using transit and living with one less car can save hundreds of dollars for a family’s budget every month. Instead of paying for gas, parking, vehicle maintenance and other expenses, let someone else do the driving and put some money back in your pocket.
Save the planet. Transit is an environmentally friendly transportation option. Single-car commutes — and the resulting traffic congestion — emit a huge amount pollution into the air every year. Transit is a cleaner, greener choice that reduces carbon emissions by reducing the number of cars on the road.
Win prizes. C-TRAN is partnering with the Transportation Choices Coalition to offer great prizes to local transit users in June. Riders can take the online pledge to support public transportation by riding three times during the month, log their trips, and be entered. Participants are eligible to win whether they’re regular riders, or just getting started.
