We continue to grow as daily technological breakthroughs make our buses able to handle all kinds of challenging routes. The day is rapidly approaching, in fact, when electric vehicles will handle the majority of bus routes.
BYD opened our North American headquarters in Los Angeles in 2011 with the mission of bringing clean transportation to cities across the country. Since that time, we have sold more than 700 battery-electric buses and trucks to customers in the U.S. and Canada, more than any other manufacturer.
Our massive and cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Northern Los Angeles County employs more than 800 workers, many in highly skilled, good paying union jobs.
BYD has won more than a dozen awards and honors from environmental advocates, government agencies and major media outlets, including Fortune Magazine, for our pioneering efforts to fundamentally change the world.
Our product performance speaks for itself: our customers continue to order and re-order BYD buses. In fact, we have over 35,000 buses deployed around the globe—and more are on the way.
