Amtrak and the State of Vermont are partners providing Amtrak Thruway bus service to Manchester and Bennington. Convenient morning and evening bus schedules offer connections to Amtrak trains at the Albany-Rensselaer station in New York.
The “Vermont Shires Connector” service is operated by VT Translines of Milton, Vermont, under contract with Vermont’s Agency of Transportation. “Vermont residents and visitors will enjoy this affordable and convenient service,” said Barbara Donovan, the public transit program manager for the Vermont Agency of Transportation.
“Relax as you travel between New York City, the Hudson Valley, Western New York and Vermont’s beautiful and historic towns of Bennington and Manchester.”
“The buses and trains have coordinated connections for travelers’ peace of mind,” said Jay Green, Amtrak district manager of stations. “Our staff is here to help.”
