The Bi-State Development Agency of Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District (St. Louis Metro) transit connects bi-state area residents to work, school, health care and other important destinations every day, seven days a week. A new program called Metro Links2Life will make it even more convenient for area residents to improve their quality of life. The first Links2Life event will focus on health and wellness, as well as youth summer activity options. It will be held on Wednesday, April 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the North County Transit Center located at 3140 Pershall Road in Ferguson.

Metro transit riders, nearby residents and others will be able to meet with local medical, health and wellness providers, and summer youth activity partners, including the YMCA, Christian Hospital, Blueprint4Summer, Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) and AARP. Some of the activities offered during the Wellness Fair and Summer Activities Event include:

  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Stroke and heart risk assessment
  • Diabetes information
  • Dietitian and weight management
  • Youth summer camp activities
  • Older adult walking events

Nine MetroBus routes link to the North County Transit Center and all of the partners and opportunities at the Wellness Fair and Summer Activities Event are accessible by Metro transit to make it easy for attendees to stay connected. The event is free and open to anyone in the community.

As part of the Links2Life program, Metro will host other free fairs and events at select transit locations around the St. Louis region to help the community link with local partners and resources.
