The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) has wished riders peace and good cheer as we enter The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. And while we’ll leave the marshmallows for toasting and mistletoeing to our riders, we hope everyone’s hearts will be glowing with our wrapped present this year. AC Transit is offering free rides aboard the 2016 holiday bus.

The 2016 Holiday Bus has no bow but its wrapping is undeniable and once onboard additional holiday giveaways may await. The Holiday Bus is neither limited to a city nor bus line. Instead AC Transit riders should be on the look-out for the festive bus on any of our existing bus routes. Service began December 1st and will operate through New Year’s Eve.

“Just over 172,000 riders chose AC Transit to get to friends, family, work, school, even the places we play here in the East Bay during 2016,” said Michael Hursh, AC Transit’s general manager. “So in the time of year when we draw loved ones near, we thought it only fitting to reintroduce the Holiday Bus for those we value and hold near – our riders.”
