Changes Coming for Several MCTS Bus Routes Through Downtown

The sale and demolition of the Downtown Milwaukee Transit Center means changes for several Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) routes that run through Downtown Milwaukee. The new routes will allow riders improved access to the Milwaukee Intermodal Station (Route 12) and a direct route to grocery stores, restaurants, and the Lakefront for people living on the west side (Route 33). The new routing also clears up some bus congestion along Wisconsin Avenue.
Signs alerting riders of the changes were posted at bus stop along Wisconsin Avenue this month. MCTS Drivers and staff will be talking with riders and answering questions on and along the routes the weeks of August 22nd and August 29th.
