Looking to have a good time while learning how to ride Metro? Take a “Late Night Test Ride” on the Metro entertainment bus on Saturday, April 23 between 8 p.m.-2 a.m.
The event, now in its third year, is a collaborative effort between Metro, Cincy YPs, and Give Back Cincinnati to encourage Millennials to give Metro a try. Metro’s Outreach and Sustainability Manager Kim Lahman and volunteers at the two organizations worked closely to develop the event to introduce Metro to young professionals on their terms.
“Cincinnati’s YP leaders truly get how important public transit is to our community, and their commitment to encouraging their peers to use Metro is inspiring,” said Lahman. “The ‘Late Night Test Ride’ provides us with a safe, fun and adventurous way of introducing young professionals to Metro’s service, while allowing them to get to know our community and one another better.”
Last year’s entertainment bus event saw more than 400 passenger trips taken. Participants this year will again have the opportunity to learn tips to plan their trip including how to read a schedule, catch a bus and use Metro’s real-time apps. During an evening of socializing while riding the bus, participants will enjoy special promotions at popular establishments along the event route in downtown, OTR, Oakley, Hyde Park, O’Bryonville, Clifton (near the University of Cincinnati) and East Walnut Hills.
Participants may purchase an event pass for $8, which is good for unlimited rides and includes a wristband for discounts on food and drinks at participating locations. Groups of four may purchase passes and wristbands at the group rate of $25. The shuttle is open to the public with an evening pass available for $5 without the wristband.
