Capital Area Transit's general manager, Bill Jones, has announced the addition of DeRon Jordon to the CAT planning staff.
“We are pleased to welcome Deron as an important addition to the CAT team,” Jones said.
Formerly with Michael Baker International, Harrisburg, PA, DeRon brings strong experience in data research, PennDOT Paratransit and Persons with Disabilities Program Compliance, as well as coordination work with CAT on the Southern Dauphin County Bus Feasibility Study, which was conducted over the last year in the Middletown area.
Working closely with PennDOT, Jordon has helped develop the New Hope Fixed Route Demonstration Study, assisting the Borough with technical planning, including a demonstration feasibility study for a fixed-route public transportation system serving both Borough residents and visitors.
Previously Jordon interned with Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), in Atlanta, GA, where he worked on several key projects, including Regional Planning, GIS/Special Projects; Transit-Oriented Development (TOD); and the utilization of ArcGIS to determine various land uses around rail stations.
DeRon Jordon is a graduate of Georgia State University – Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, with a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy - Planning & Economic Development.
