SARTA Opposes State Issue 3

Oct. 28, 2015

Stark Area Regional Transit (SARTA) opposes the proposed constitutional amendment of Issue 3, the legalization of Marijuana. As proposed, Issue 3 poses a “take it or leave it’ choice to Ohio voters which sends the wrong message to young Ohioans.

While, Issue 3 would allow adults 21 and over to poses the equivalent of more than 500 marijuana joints is scarcely a limit. The concern is that these would fall into the hands of those under 21 years of age.   According to Kirt Conrad, executive director, “The constitutional amendment would conflict with Federal Drug Laws and violate SARTA’s drug free work place.”
