Aug. 27, 2015

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is once again the recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2015 budget.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the 19th consecutive year.  This speaks to the RTA and the Service Boards’ commitment to presenting a budget that meets the highest standards of communication and accountability to the public,” said RTA Executive Director Leanne Redden.

Once again, this award illustrates the RTA's long-term commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting, satisfying several nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.  The 2015 budget document features improved consistency across the Service Board sections and incorporates standard chart and table designs.  The RTA's 2015 budget document is rated “proficient” for each of twenty-seven criteria within six evaluation categories and qualifies the regional budget to be an example for others throughout North America.  The RTA’s Budget, Performance and Business Analysis Division also received a Certificate of Recognition for its role as the division primarily responsible for the achievement of this award.
