Champions were named at the annual Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) Roadeo competition held last Saturday at the MTA facility on Myatt Drive.
Adrell Stringer took first place in the 40-foot bus division. He also finished second in the 35-foot bus division. Chris Vick won the 35-foot bus division and the AccessRide van division and was second in the 40-foot bus division.
Stringer and Vick will compete in the state competition in Knoxville in November. Joining them at the state event will be Varick Hydek, who was third in the 40-foot bus division, and Kerry Baines, who finished second in the AccessRide van division. The winner of the state event also earns a spot in the International Roadeo, which will be held in Fort Worth, Texas next May.
A maintenance competition also took place with Bobby Kerce finishing first, Troy Willis second and Kyle Kruk third. All three will compete in the second annual state bus maintenance competition in November.
