Partnership helps facilitate direct delivery of work-ready, propane autogas-powered Winnebago Metro Link buses via Metro Worldwide.

Icom North America LLC has partnered with Winnebago Industries Inc. for installation and distribution of its Icom JTG II Bi-Fuel and Mono-Fuel Liquid Propane Autogas Injection System in Winnebago Metro Link buses.

The partnership, in conjunction with Winnebago Metro Link North American master distributor Metro Worldwide, LLC, will allow work-ready, alternatively fueled buses to be delivered direct to dealers and end users. Metro Worldwide will also offer Icom liquid propane autogas conversions for existing bus fleets, as well as full-line sales, service, installation and warranty services.

“Icom North America is both pleased and excited to help Winnebago Industries spearhead its alternative fuel initiative for its Metro Link bus line,” said Albert Venezio, Icom North America chairman. “Propane autogas is the perfect alternative fuel for this industry. It can reduce exhaust emissions by up to 50 percent compared with gasoline and even more compared with diesel. When purchased as a fleet fuel solution, it usually offers 30 percent to 50 percent fuel cost savings when compared with gasoline, and even more compared with diesel.”

“The Winnebago and Metro Worldwide names are synonymous with reliability,” said Ralph Perpetuini, CEO of Icom North America. “Our partnership with such prestigious companies demonstrates just how reliable and seamless our fully integrated liquid injection propane systems are. Plus, fueling with propane autogas lowers fuel and maintenance costs while using a North American energy source.”
