When you see your Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus or light rail operator on March 18, let them know that you appreciate their service to the community as part of International Transit Driver Appreciation Day.
Take a picture Tuesday and send it to us with a short description on why they are the best of the best.
CATS buses and trains are in operation approximately 20 hours a day getting residents safely around the Charlotte region in all types of traffic and weather conditions. CATS prides itself on its safety record, taking home the Safest in State Award in North Carolina several years, most recently in 2013, for Bus Operations and Special Transportation Service.
“The statewide recognition highlights the efforts of our operators and the safe service they provide every day to our customers on their way to work, school, medical appointments and shopping,” said Carolyn Flowers, CEO of CATS.
