The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) today announced that two vehicles will be stationed at DeNooyer Chevrolet to accept donations this Holiday Season. CDTA alongside DeNooyer Chevrolet, Hannaford Foods, Clothes Mentor and the Empire Christian Center have teamed up to offer a special drop off location for community needs.
“We are happy to work with this great team of area businesses to help make a difference this Holiday Season,” said CDTA Chairman David Stackrow. “So we invite everyone to take a few moments to ‘Stuff Our Bus’ for those in our community that are most in need.”
Donations of nonperishable food items and new or slightly used clothing will be accepted at DeNooyer’s 127 Wolf Road location from Nov. 22 through Dec. 21. The food and clothing will be given away on Dec. 22 to those in need from 2 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at 50 Lark St., at the Alternative Learning Center.
CDTA is also teaming up with the Fly Morning Rush’s Challenge to raise 2,400 pounds of non-perishable foods items that will be donated to the Regional Food Bank. Starting Nov. 26 at 8 a.m., a CDTA bus will be stationed at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Latham (400 Old Loudon Road). The bus will be available to be stuffed until 8 a.m. Nov. 27. If the 2,400-pound goal is met, everyone that donates will be entered to win a pair of tickets to see Justin Timberlake at the Times Union Center on July 16.
