NM: ABQ Ride’s “Clear the Air Challenge” at the Nob Hill Growers Market
Perhaps you’ve already discovered the shopping experience that is a Growers Market in Albuquerque; the brightly colored vegetables and fruits, the array of regional and organic specialties and beautiful crafts. If you haven’t experienced this, you can see all of it, plus drink free hot chocolate and coffee, win prizes and sign up for ABQ Ride’s “Clear the Air Challenge.”
It happens today, Nov. 21, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Morningside Park at Lead Ave SE and Morningside; the location of the final Nob Hill Growers Market of the season. The Growers Market is actually extending its season for the first time ever, in part to accommodate shoppers looking for terrific food items for Thanksgiving.
“The ‘Clear the Air Challenge’ has already registered almost 200 people who’ve pledged to use public transit or alternative transportation such as carpooling,” said Mayor Richard J. Berry. “And if you haven’t pledged yet, you can do so at the Growers Market and also find some wonderful Thanksgiving bargains.”
Stop by ABQ Ride’s booth at the Market and get free hot chocolate and coffee from Nob Hill’s newest chocolate and coffee shop, Chocolate Dude. You can also tour or take your photo next to ABQ Ride’s antique 1927 White bus.
When you sign up for the “Clear the Air Challenge,” you will receive a free One-Day Pass and a reusable tote bag. You will also be entered into a drawing to win one of three ABQ RIDE gift bags with a steel coffee mug, red plastic tumbler, and a 30-Day ABQ Ride bus pass. One of those gift bags also contains the Grand Prize: a gift certificate to Scarpas Brick Oven Pizza.
“Our booth at the Nob Hill Growers Market demonstrates the importance of ABQ Ride partnering with local businesses and organizations to reach out to potential riders,” said Bruce Rizzieri, director of ABQ Ride.
