The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) announced Sept. 20 that transportation innovator Leo McCloskey has joined the association as senior vice president for technical programs, where he will manage all of ITS America’s contract work, including its work with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and other public sector, private industry and research partners.
McCloskey joins ITS America from Airbiquity Inc., an industry leader in telematics technologies and the connected vehicle services market for major automakers like Ford Motor Company, Nissan and General Motors. As Airbiquity’ s vice president of marketing, McCloskey directed the organizations work in areas of driver distraction and ecosystem development.

He understands the challenges ahead and brings significant technical expertise combined with a vision for how technology can strengthen our communities and improve the lives of the American people,” said ITS America’s President and CEO Scott Belcher. As senior vice president for technical programs, McCloskey will lead ITS America’s Technical Programs group and direct the organization’s research, standards, and other technology-driven initiatives.
Previously, McCloskey has held senior leadership positions at IntelliTax, Nexagent, Ebone and Terabeam and EDS Inc. where he defined a novel method for connecting customers to a distributed global service delivery infrastructure.
