MD: BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Renews Contract with First Transit

The Maryland Aviation Administration has extended its contract with First Transit for 7 years, keeping the leading provider of transit management and contracting services as the shuttle provider, and transporting over 100,000 passengers weekly at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.

The Maryland Aviation Administration has extended its contract with First Transit for 7 years, keeping the leading provider of transit management and contracting services as the shuttle provider, and transporting over 100,000 passengers weekly at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. The company is currently serving under a 5-year contract and operates 60 vehicles at BWI.

“We are honored that the Maryland Aviation Administration trusts and values our commitment to providing safe and on time transportation for passengers from terminals, said David Halperin, First Transit general manager. “Our safe and timely shuttle services enable BWI Airport passengers to reach business and pleasure destinations worldwide.”

Recently, the Maryland Public Service Commission identified First Transit as the top employer of diverse contracts, based on total minority business enterprise expenditures in the state of Maryland.
