CA: Ann Barr Kovara Joins Parsons Brinckerhoff

Ann Barr Kovara has been named a senior supervising architect in the Los Angeles office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Ann Barr Kovara has been named a senior supervising architect in the Los Angeles office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Kovara has more than 30 years of experience as an architect and project/construction manager, working on major transit and transportation projects. A leader in the green transit sector, her experience includes the development of the sustainable guidelines, criteria, and policies and procedures for numerous transportation and facilities projects. She is currently writing a book about woodworker Sam Maloof and the Maloof Relocation Project.

Kovara received a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Arizona. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Women’s Transportation Seminar, and the Los Angeles Conservancy. She previously served as cultural heritage commissioner and planning commissioner for the city of South Pasadena, Calif.; an oral exam commissioner for the California Architects Board; and as an architectural registration exam writer for the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
