Gannett Fleming Expands Transit and Rail Capabilities in California

To bolster the presence of Gannett Fleming’s transit and rail services in the west, Gannett Fleming made two key employee additions to the Los Angeles office.

Keyvan Pirbazari, P.E., joined the firm as a senior program manager in the transit and rail practice. He is responsible for client development and transit and rail infrastructure projects.

David A. Farley relocated to the west coast from the firm’s Chicago office. He serves as a vice president for Gannett Fleming Transit & Rail Systems, a division of Gannett Fleming specializing in design and construction management of transit and railroad track, signal, communication, and electric traction. Collectively, they will work to continue Gannett Fleming’s expansion throughout southern California and the Southwest U.S.

Pirbazari is a licensed professional engineer in the state of California and several other states. Throughout his 32 year career, he has worked extensively in southern California. With nearly 25 years of experience in the region, he has worked with transit agencies such as Los Angeles Metro, Orange County Transportation Authority, Riverside County Transportation Commission, and the San Diego Association of Governments in the areas of transit planning, design, and construction management.

Active in professional associations, he serves on the American Council of Engineering Companies, Orange County Chapter board of directors. He is a member of the American Public Works Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and Women’s Transportation Seminar. Pirbazari holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Louisiana State University.

Farley has taken coursework in business from Loyola University and Concordia University. He also received professional certification for building and construction management from the University of California, Los Angeles. Farley is a member of the American Public Transportation Association, the Construction Management Association of America, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association.
