Parsons announced that Jared B. Scarbrough, a senior engineer, has been recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) as one of the Mountain States’ Top 20 Under 40.
This annual regional competition celebrates young engineering and construction professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, a commitment to excellence and to the communities their projects serve, and dedication to their company.
Scarbrough joined Parsons in September 2009, and he has served as deputy design project manager, systems manager, and utility manager for light rail transit and roadway projects throughout the U.S. He developed a key process that integrates utility design into projects by using intelligent models that verify the interdisciplinary compatibility of each subsystem, a method proven to save hundreds of hours for survey crews as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in contractor rework costs.

Scarbrough served as deputy design project manager for the Mid-Jordan/Draper design-build projects in Utah, which have a combined contract value of more than $300 million. In addition, he is a LEED-accredited professional and a professional engineer licensed in multiple states. In 2011, he was named the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Young Professional of the Year.
