InnoTrans continues to develop new concepts. From Sept. 18-21 2012, for the first time, the world's leading trade fair for transport technology will feature a Public Transport & Interiors (PTI) Hall Forum. Besides expanding the two growth segments Public Transport and Interiors, the PTI Hall Forum will also combine buying and design, which are important public transport topics, under one roof. The focus at the PTI Hall Forum is on the DB Suppliers' Forum, the International Design Forum and Speakers' Corner.
DB Suppliers' Forum
With the DB Suppliers' Forum Deutsche Bahn, Europe's largest rail transport company and one of the largest buyers on the European market, will be looking to enter into a dialogue with rail industry suppliers. Keynotes delivered by representatives of Deutsche Bahn and its suppliers will serve to kick off the debate. Representatives of Deutsche Bahn on the discussion panel will be answering and discussing questions, which can either be submitted beforehand or can be put directly to the members of the panel. With this forum InnoTrans 2012 has an outstanding communication platform for manufacturers and customers of the rail industry.
For Dr. Kay-Uwe May, head of Procurement Strategy of Deutsche Bahn AG, the advantages of the forum are clear: "This is where suppliers from all parts of the world will be gathered. If offers a perfect opportunity to obtain an overview of the latest developments on the supply market and to meet directly with suppliers."
International Design Forum
Design is everything. Thus the focus at the International Design Forum will be on interior design and designs for vehicles operating on public transport networks. International keynotes will illustrate the potential offered by using materials in creative and sustainable ways. Pecha kucha presentations (i.e. brief and strictly time-limited multimedia presentations) will encourage talks and an exchange of views. Furthermore, experts at podium discussions will be debating the latest interior design trends. The forum will be accompanied by a small exhibition which will present innovative materials and practical applications. The International Design Center Berlin (IDZ) is responsible for the "Material & Creativity" programme which has a focus on design.
Cornelia Horsch, head of IDZ: "The use of materials should be a conscious decision and given thoughtful consideration. Our aim at the Design Forum is to discuss trends in materials with exhibitors and visitors and to demonstrate innovative and creative solutions."
Speakers' Corner 2.0
At the PTI Hall Forum, in addition to interaction, exhibitors will also have an opportunity to introduce their companies and products at Speakers' Corner. The decision by the trade fair management to set up this exclusive presentation platform is in response to the many requests from companies in the Public Transport and Interiors segments. Certainly at InnoTrans 2012 there will again be a Speakers' Corner in Hall 14.2/15.2 for exhibitors in the Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure and Tunnel Construction segments. Generally at Speakers' Corner there aren't any content related guidelines, however the time limit is restricted to one hour.
