Alexandria Transit Company (DASH) employees participated in the 4th Annual Spring for Alexandria by painting an underpass and helping with litter clean up.

On Friday, May 6, 2011, Alexandria Transit Company (DASH) employees rolled up their sleeves to participate at the 4th Annual Spring for Alexandria, a three-day celebration of giving and service, which provides Alexandria residents and businesses opportunities to support their community and local charities.

DASH was responsible for painting the underpass near the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter and helping with litter clean up. "It is a wonderful feeling to be able to give back to the community where you live, work and play," stated Sandy Modell, ATC general manager. "To see DASH employees and volunteers donate their time in a positive way shows how united Alexandrians are at giving back to their community."

DASH was a proud sponsor of Spring for Alexandria. In addition to volunteering, DASH donated several give-a-ways to Alexandria Gives and DASH bus operators wore Spring for Alexandria t-shirts on their routes to promote the three-day celebration of community-wide events.
