QC: Ottawa, Quebec Chip in $10.6M for Montreal-Area Public Transit

The governments of Canada and Quebec have allocated $10.6 million to improve public transit services in the Montreal area.

The governments of Canada and Quebec have allocated $10.6 million to improve public transit services in the Montreal area.

The funding was announced during a groundbreaking ceremony Monday to expand a park-and-ride site in La Prairie.

The federal government will cover $5.9 million of the costs while the province will chip in $4.7 million.

The projects are being carried out in anticipation of an increase in ridership.
