The Gold Coast Transit District has closed several of its bus stops along downtown Ventura's Main Street to speed up service on that busy route.
“Bus stop balancing is a low cost and easy way to speed up transit service along more transit-friendly, walkable downtown corridors, such as Main Street,” Vanessa Rauschenberger, the Oxnard-based district's director of planning and marketing, said Thursday.
Fewer stops mean shorter travel times.
