NM: Transit Supervisor Ordered Workers to Dump Contaminated Water into Storm Drains

The city's inspector general has uncovered that for two years a transit supervisor was having employees put contaminated water from cleaning off buses intro storm drains.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The city's inspector general has uncovered that for two years a transit supervisor was having employees put contaminated water from cleaning off buses intro storm drains. 

"They're cleaned everyday," said Rick De Reyes with the city's Transit Department.  

More than 200 city buses visit the steam cleaning bay at Daytona Transit Facility everyday for a power washing.

"To clean engine oil and to clean some of the engines.The gunk and some of the road grime that they pick up during the day," said De Reyes.
