Members of the governing board of Chatham Area Transit are stepping back from a code of conduct policy they considered late last month.

After several members of the CAT Board of Directors cited concerns about procedure and transparency, Chairman Howard French reported that the appointed group will be meeting at the committee level to rehash certain sections of the policy before they come back to the table again for a final vote. 

The commissioners want a procedure in place that allows for enough flexibility for them to respond to their constituents without being in violation of the CAT Board’s conduct rules.
