Marin voters may be asked to approve a transportation sales tax renewal measure in November 2018, but officials will first seek public opinion.
Transportation officials this week approved up to $35,000 for a public opinion poll sometime in the first quarter of 2018. They will also talk to officials in Marin’s cities and towns about plans.
In 2004, county residents passed Measure A, a 20-year half-cent sales tax to raise millions of dollars that has since helped pay for the completion of Highway 101 carpool lanes in the county, Safe Routes to Schools programs, and bus service and road work, among other projects.
