Local bus users are now able to keep track of their ride on a smart phone.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has launched a new bus-tracking website which will allow riders to get up-to-the-moment information about the movements of each bus on every route.
“You can go to a website and see all of our fixed route buses,” said Mark Little, MET general manager. “It’s real-time information about where your vehicle is at.”
The website at transit.unitegps.com/mt shows a color-coded page of each MET Transit fixed route. Users can click on their route, opening up a map with an arrow that serves as a bus and updates every four seconds.
