The Westmoreland County Transit Authority board wants the agency to own its largest park-and-ride lot and has condemned two properties used for that purpose.
Authority solicitor John O'Connell said negotiations with the two property owners who own the land leased by the agency to hold as many as 275 cars near Carpenter Lane in North Huntingdon have been unsuccessful.
Therefore, the authority board voted to take the parcels by eminent domain.
