The transit agency that will oversee the Cincinnati streetcar’s operations and the union that represents its workers cannot agree how those employees could work on the project once it’s operational next year, according to a letter from the agency’s CEO to Mayor John Cranley.
Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority CEO Dwight Ferrell told Cranley that the sticking point remains whether up to five specialized streetcar technicians will be SORTA employees and members of the Amalgamated Transit Union.
