MONCTON, N.B. - A planned strike by intercity bus workers in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island is back on.
The union representing Acadian Lines employees says members have voted 88 per cent to reject the company's latest contract offer.
The workers, members of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1229, include bus drivers, maintenance workers and customer service representatives.
The union withdrew a strike notice last week so that Acadian Lines could present a new proposal.
Union president Glen Carr says it's obvious the company's latest offer was cobbled together quickly.
He says a strike notice has been reinstated, with workers set to walk off the job Friday at 6:30 a.m.
