Six people were injured when a van ran a red light at an Oakland intersection and was struck by an AC Transit bus, a transit spokesman said.
The collision happened just before 4:30 at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, just east of downtown Oakland, said AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson.
He said the van, traveling north on Fifth Avenue, crossed Foothill against the light and was hit by the westbound bus.
The drivers of both vehicles and four passengers on the bus were hospitalized, Johnson said. He said he did not know the extent of their injuries.
